Americans' Debt - NYT article from KAS

Katherine is recommending this excellent read from The New York Times on how Americans are digging deeper and deeper into debt. It has implications not just for us as individuals, but for our students and their families, and the state our future students' families find themselves in as they try to come to AU.

For a deeper insight into how we got into the current debt crisis, I recommend the book "Up Up to Our Eyeballs: The Hidden Truths and Consequences of Debt in Today's America" by ames Lardner, Jose Garcia, Cindy Zeldin, and Tamara Draut.

It's a very readable book that takes a historical look at debt and is not designed to be a self-help book. Written by economists.
